Circus is an old tradition but circus fitness is kinda new
to Aotearoa! We’d say it’s like gymnastics but without the competitions and
with heaps more creative freedom! If you like being creative and you like moving
your body, or if you’re a little brave monkey, or if you’re epic at counting
and love patterns… circus is so diverse there is something for everyone!!
Aerial dance, tumbling, hand balance and contortion, object manipulation like hoops and juggling, balancing on things or on people and everything in between!!
Why is it good for me?
Circus has many many benefits! Fitness, balance, strength, confidence, flexibility, community, bravery, creativity, achievement, ability to focus and a sense of belonging to something!
How much will it cost me?
Classes are roughly $20. Some places such as Dust Palace have scholarship programs which offer free training to those who can’t afford it.
What do I need to start?
Just pop on into a studio and say hi! Circus is so diverse you can practice a bunch of it at home and everything you do at home will make you better and feed into your training and creativity at the studio.
